Rabbits are very curious and playful animals who need a lot of stimulation to keep them happy and healthy. Whether you have a house or garden rabbit, or a combination of the two like me, it is important to always provide them with lots of toys to play with.
You will find a wide variety or toys for rabbits at your local pet shop or online, however you can also think outside the box. My rabbit Tilly loves to play with her bucket and spade, a small watering can and even little cones that are used for children’s soccer practice. Of course she just loves the long green tubes to burrow through, they are amongst her favorites. Just make sure that anything you give is safe, just in case it gets chewed.
Toys are particularly important for Tilly as currently she is a sole rabbit and thus interaction with me and with toys is even more important for her. There may be bonding news soon however for Tilly, she is on the lookout for a nice male bunny 😉 So watch this space.
Tilly and I made a little video showing just how much happier toys can make rabbits, we hope you enjoy it 🙂
PS Although the garden is completely enclosed Tilly is only allowed freedom when she is under supervision, it’s always important to keep an eye out for predators, so keep those bunnies safe.
